Open Book is the Facility. Within the building are three founding partner organizations and other businesses who make Open Book home. Each business sets their own hours and services.

The Loft

The Loft is a haven for readers and writers, one of the largest centers of its kind in the country. We accomplish our work by bringing essential conversations, artists, readers, and learning opportunities together under one organization, offering classes, conferences, festivals, events, grants and awards, one-on-one services for writers, residencies, and community engagement.

The Loft is closed Mondays. The Loft Reception area is open 10 am- 2 pm Tuesday through Friday.

MCBA is a nonprofit visual arts center that celebrates the art of the book. They practice letterpress printing, bookbinding, hand papermaking, paper marbling, and more! Offering youth and adult classes, numerous exhibitions annually, and opportunities for artists of all levels, MCBA is a great place to visit.

The MCBA Gallery is open 10 am to 5 pm, Tuesday through Saturday (+until 7 pm on Thursdays) and features rotating exhibitions. Free to visit. Check the MCBA website to see what exhibition is currently on view.

New Arab American Theater Works
New Arab American Theater Works is a Minnesota based collective of SWANA (Southwest Asian/North African) playwrights, musicians, and performing artists. They fill a void in the local and national scene where Arab and Muslim Americans frequently lack voice and opportunities.

The Weavers Guild of Minnesota (WGM) believes weaving, spinning, and dyeing are fundamental to the human experience. They are the largest weaving and spinning guild in the US, serving more than 500 members. Programs include classes designed for learners of all skill levels and abilities, workshops with nationally recognized instructors, and public talks and exhibitions.

The Weavers Guild shop, selling weaving supplies, is open Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday 10am-5pm; Thursday: 10am-7pm.
