Myth is the Messenger: An evening of fantasy fiction with Connor Unger

  • Open Book 1011 South Washington Avenue Minneapolis, MN, 55415 United States (map)

Join local writer Connor Unger for an evening of myth and music as he reads from his novel, Amentine, and talks about how fantasy stories can grant us access to the sacred and magical spaces in our own lives.

Amentine is a fantasy book about a young girl with a magic voice, a masked pilgrim whose vocal cords were stolen, and the alliance they must form to survive a brutal war. Myth is the Messenger will be an invitation into Amentine’s world, and an exploration of how fantasy stories reveal the invisible worlds within us, and the animating forces that help us find meaning in everyday acts of maintenance and friendship. The event will feature live, original piano music by T.J. Hagen.

Complimentary hors d'oeuvres and drinks will be available during a pre-show reception from 7:30 – 8:00 PM. The program will start at 8:00 PM and last approximately one hour. Masks are required for this event, except while eating or drinking.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door or in advance at this link: https://connorunger.eventbrite.com
