Join us on Saturday, April 15th at Open Book for a film screening, discussion, and social hosted by youth fellows + friends of the Legal Rights Center and New Justice Project!

"Thugs: The Criminalization of Black Youth" directed by Emani Labon and Taylour Alexandria is a documentary that examines the impacts of the school-to-prison pipeline on Black youth across the country. Featuring the story of Myon Burrell, who was failed by the justice system and wrongfully incarcerated at 16 years old, this documentary aims to educate and spread awareness about the impacts of the education system on Black youth.

The event will also include a post-screening celebration and youth only after party with a red carpet walk, photo booth, and food! Doors open at 5:45, and dress code is dress to impress!
