  • Job Title: Education Coordinator

    Organization: The Loft Literary Center, Minneapolis (www.loft.org)

    Status: FT, non-exempt (hourly)

    Reports to: Program Manager, Education

    Position Purpose

    This position delivers friendly, helpful, and patient customer service experiences as a first, and often primary, point of contact for Loft constituents including audience members, students, teaching artists, and other stakeholders. The Education Coordinator solves problems for constituents, shows empathy, and is a cheerleader for the Loft and its programs, promoting participation, and helping people register for classes and other Loft offerings. The program associate ensures that the Loft public, staff, and contractors have accurate and timely information about participation and programs, provides administrative support, and prepares/sets up digital and physical spaces to be safe, neat, comfortable, and functional for their respective purposes. 

    Hiring Process: This position is open until filled; applications will be reviewed as they come in, but first preference will be given to applications received by October 17. Interviews will likely begin in late October.

    Your regulars will vary from people who spend their whole day at a desk, athletes, service workers, children, elderly, pregnant, injured and so many more, and they will all be ready for change. We will teach your regulars to come to you with the information you need to be able to understand their needs better all the time. Your clients will have access to programs that teach them to move differently so they can help learn to balance their body better and make your work easier. Your regulars will learn to practice relaxation so that you can work more efficiently with improved results.

    You will have the opportunity to make a great wage, with no cap on growth, more if you have extra certifications in different modalities beyond your original schooling and even more on the weekends.     Therapists must:

    *Have completed at least a 500 hour course in massage training

    *Be friendly, honest, diligent, professional, prompt and dependable

    *Work at one or both of our Minneapolis locations with a set schedule of 3-5 shifts/week that include one weekday morning, one weekday evening and one weekend shift.

    *Have liability insurance

    *Any additional Modalities are a plus
