Join Dr. Duane Carter for the book release celebration of his first book publication titled: No Margin, No Mission: Adapting Leading Business Practices to Grow Your Nonprofit. This book is about opportunities… The world is changing, and nonprofit organizations that want to thrive into the future need to prepare for structural shifts in the industry, as we slowly move past this period of pandemic, social unrest, economic downturn, and uncertainty with its supply chain disruptions, shortages, and inflation. This is a strategic inflection point and nonprofits must discover how to grow and thrive in a new era.
Nonprofits face four environmental trends—each a potentially fatal risk factor, if ignored:
• Governmental: An erosion of governmental funding and reimbursements
• Sociocultural: A shrinking number of households donating monetary assets to charities
• Economic: A concentration of philanthropic dollars
• Technological: A transition to the digital world for service delivery anywhere at any time
Few nonprofits will escape these risk factors. And another crucial reality in the nonprofit sector puts many organizations in further peril; so much at risk, in fact, that many won’t last. The reality: Most nonprofits are too small.
In this book, the Value Enhancement Model provides a path forward with levers for surviving, thriving, and growing through good financial performance, continuous improvement in operations and service delivery, and strong organic and inorganic growth. This is where we get better at doing good for the people we serve.
Dr. Carter will be in attendance to sign copies of his book and to celebrate the publication. From 3:00 -3:30pm, he will share his writing journey and read excerpts from his book. All are welcome to stop by.
