In her new novel, Steel, Kathleen Novak returns with a tightly woven love story set against the turmoil of the 1920s-gun violence, urban crime, ethnic conflicts, and finally the Great Depression. At this book release event, Kathleen will be reading from her book and there will be music.
Kathleen Novak is a poet and writer who grew up on the iron mining range of Northern Minnesota, the granddaughter of Italian and Croatian immigrants. She is the author of the Minnesota Book Award finalist Do Not Find Me and its companion, The Autobiography of Corrine Bernard, which was selected as a semifinalist for the Chautauqua Prize in 2019. Her novel of small-town characters in mid-century America, Rare Birds, was released in 2017. Ms Novak's poetry has been published in literary magazines nationally.
