Join us for the 3rd Annual Artist, Writer & Maker Mart at Open Book.

This year we’ve expanded to 2 days!

There will be hands-on art and writing activities, and over 50 artists and writers selling unique items perfect for those on your shopping list, or for you!

This #SmallBusinessWeekend, Open Book has partnered with Queer Voices of MN to help host 2 full days of programming!

Saturday features any kind of writers, makers, and literary leaders while Sunday will feature vendors from our 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

Saturday is FREE to attend. Takes place on the 2nd floor of Open Book.

Sunday’s Mart has additional live programming and Queer Voices is charging a modest, sliding scale ticket fee.

Open Book Partner & Tenant activities scheduled:

The Weavers Guild: Saturday and Sunday

Found Object Community Loom: Weavers guild members warped an existing coat rack that will be placed in an open space on the 2nd floor with yarns, fabric and fun materials.  Visitors can take a break from shopping to rest and weave into this interactive activity. 

The Loft: Saturday (10:00 am - 2:00 pm) 

Teaching artists will be outside the Loft offices, tucked into the cozy corner, leading short writing prompts, book reviews, and reading activities. 

Minnesota Center for Book Arts: Saturday 

Staff and volunteers will be outside the shop and gallery on the first floor offering free print press postcards that read "Get Cozy" and visitors can decorate a mitten for the shop display. In the shop, every purchase made earns customers a chance at the Bingo Ball Spinner for a prize - every spin wins!

Milkweed Books: Saturday 

Milkweed Books will have sips and snacks, as well as a special gift for purchases of 4 or more books. These include galleys of unreleased books, bookmarks, and broadsides.
